Kevin - of course, not sad. Pre-order = Awesome! Also, Merc wants you to know that he's extremely big in real life. Ocelots = 2x the size of housecats. Also, Merc = 10x the awesomeness of any lions or tigers or bears you know. If the actual size of his awesomeness were shown, he would not be able to fit on a regular book cover. His image would only be able to be conveyed on a movie poster or billboard,etc.

SK - I just downloaded the WBW audio, too. Normally I don't actually go back to read my own books unless I'm fact-checking, but I can't resist audios. I love them to pieces, so have to try the Would-Be Witch audio.

... I'm gonna have my webmistress post a Halfway Hexed excerpt soon. I just need to update the manuscript pages with the tinkers we did in copy edits.

Some people have noticed that I'm publishing my dragon shifter paranormal romances under the name "Kim Frost" rather than "Kimberly Frost." It was a tough decision to do so, but I went ahead with the switch for 3 reasons.  First, I wanted readers to be aware that there would be something different about these books than my main established series. The tone of the Winterverse Dragon books is not comedic (though my usual wit does play a role. After all, I have the kick-ass main character of Hunted Dragon Mate faking amnesia in the early scenes.) In addition, the love/sex scenes in the story are more detailed and have stronger language than I've used before. That's just a reflection of the current trend in romance.  And finally, I wanted to target a slightly different readership than I'd targeted before. Pleasanton, California

I spent last week with a group of writers who were working on elevating their stories to breakout novel status. It was quite inspiring to see artists hard at work. In addition to helping them with their stories, I did some work planning a proposal for Book 3 in the Southern Witch Series. Pleasanton, California where we stayed was lovely. Main Street has the look and feel of an older era. (I wish I had taken a picture of it to show you. The one above just shows wonderful fall color.) Anyway, I couldn't help but wonder if the creators of the movie Pleasantville (which I loved) had been to Pleasanton for inspiration. Have a wonderful week!
