Literary love's rocky course...

This is the funniest essay I've read on writing in awhile, and I had to share the link:

Howdy Kimber,

You'll have to let me know who your editor is at Berkley. If it's Anne Sowards we're publishing cousins.

Kelly,

My editor's not Anne Sowards, but Anne did play a part in the creation of Would-be Witch. I met her at a conference and pitched the concept in the hallway. (I love all the dark urban fantasies at ACE/ROC, but had this idea for something light rattling around my brain. I wasn't sure anyone would be interested in a light urban fantasy, so I asked her what she thought.)

She was not only very kind, but she expressed interest in the premise. I began work on the story the same day.

So, maybe you and I are second cousins? ;)

Holy crap, that was funny! I am now reading it to my wife as she recovers from a fairly critical critique from an author friend. I think she'll love it as much as I have!

Thanks for linking it!
