Life Lessons from Luna...

I remember when my brother and I were reading the Harry Potter series, we both loved the adorably odd Luna Lovegood, so I was delighted to find her well cast and a fun focal point of the recent Potter movies.

The thing I love about her in the films is that despite being a little bizarre, she often strikes at the heart of the truth in the dire world of magic, giving Harry the advice he needs when he needs it. She is also wonderfully oblivious to other people's opinions, even the Ministry of Magic's. She marches contentedly to the beat of her own drum, while wearing some crazy "Fashion Don'ts"...which of course makes me like her all the more. :)

Yep, Luna is one of the places where the movies significantly exceed the books. Brilliant casting there.

Luna has something valuable at an age where the "herd mentality" rules.

Yes. I couldn't agree more. I think I relate to here in more ways than to any of the other Potter characters. She is not unaware of what the others are saying or doing. She is just secure enough in herself to ignore it and go her own way.

I love that Luna is smarter than people give her credit for. She may be gullible and airy at times, but she is unique and isn't afraid of being different. I think that everyone can learn a valuable lesson from Luna that being different is OK, you don't have to fit in. My favorite Luna moment is the Quidditch commentary in book 6, priceless.

Definitely. Luna is my favorite character. I wish she and Harry got together. Down with popular Ginny. lol

Luna Lovegood. My life is better just for having read about a girl like her. And to see that adorable girl personified makes life all the richer.
