Unofficial (& Fabulous) Cover Copy
Yesterday, I was telling you about my cover copy for Would-be Witch. And I'm so excited about it that I just can't wait...I have to post the unofficial version. For the back cover:
In the small town of Duvall, Texas, the only thing more troublesome than gossip--is magic.
The family magic seems to have skipped Tammy Jo Trask. All she gets in the way of the supernatural are a few untimely visits from the long dead, smart-mouthed family ghost, Edie. But when her locket--an heirloom that happens to hold Edie's soul--is stolen in the midst of a town-wide crime spree, it's time for Tammy to find her inner witch.
After a few experiences in dysfunctional magic, Tammy turns to the only one who can help; the very rich, and highly magical, Bryn Lyons. He might have all the answers-and a 007 savoir faire to boot-but the locket isn't the only heirloom passed down in Tammy's family. She also inherited a warning...to stay away from anyone named Lyons...

I can't wait until it does!!! I know it's going to be fun. The art department at Berkley is great.
How are you today? And what's your current work-in-progress about?
LOL. That's a great idea. I'll work on a spell to get and keep us happily published.
One of the wonderful features that WH has is our "PAL program" where a published author has the honor of having her book presented by another of the chapter's writers. Jo Anne, who writes terrific (contest-winning) family-centered stories of romance/women's fiction, doesn't usually read paranormal fiction, but offered to be my PAL anyway. (Forgive me for gushing, but isn't she lovely?)
Yay for you!! Super extra mile-wide yays!!
Hugs,
L
I can't imagine getting the message that your book is actually getting printed and you have proof right in your hands (or in-box as the case may be). Unbelievable and good for you.

Big hugs and thanks for stopping by the blog. I think I wrote about a third of this book when we were all at the beach in Florida in the house where every room had a door leading outside. LOL. I loved that crazy house.
Anyway, I can't wait to see how many other projects from that trip will turn into published works. You know I'm rooting for you guys, too! I'd like to see us on a giant tour bus like rock stars have, traveling to bookstores in beach towns all across the U.S.
I bet my cover will be great, but I think it may be impossible for the cover art department to top themselves after doing your cover this year.
For anyone who wants to see Kim's cover right now, go to: kimlenox.com.
I can't wait for her book to come out this fall so I can put a huge copy of the cover up on my blog to help promote it.
Maybe in addition to interviewing Kim about her writing, I can get my editor to help me track down the cover model for an interview.
I know all my blog readers must be curious about what he has for breakfast, how many push-ups he does each day...you know all the important life questions that should appear in a Tiger Beat style interview.
It's great to hear from you. I am amazed by all the things you manage to juggle so well. (Writing, work, family in the form of a husband and small baby.) That is such a tall order! I just know your dedication is going to pay off, too.
Thanks for stopping in here. I know you're very busy now with the baseball season underway. ;) I always enjoy surfing your blog and seeing all the great pictures of you and the kids. Hope you have a wonderful week. :)
I'm looking forward to having the book in my hands and seeing the beauty in person. And to read it.
I'm so happy for you.
Your book sounds great!! I can't wait to read it! Isn't it exciting? Congrats...you deserve it! Shell
It's always wonderful to cyber-see you.
Yes, I'm very excited. Sometimes it doesn't quite seem real, but then something like the back cover copy comes and then it DOES feel real. Yahoo!
Hugs your way. :)
Oh, it's wonderful to see you, and I hope work's going well.
When the book comes out I'd love to come home to Michigan to do some signings in the summer, which will be the perfect excuse to come see you, David, and the kids on the lake.
Will send snail mail soon.
Love,
Kimberly
Can you tell me what books Joanne has written? Your blog to her mentioned them and they also look interesting. As you can tell, I am a reader as well.
Take care and let us know when your book is published!

I'm delighted to see you. I still am working some shifts for UT on a casual basis, but haven't been out your way in quite awhile.
The new, more relaxed schedule is a lot of fun. I'm enjoying my shifts and my writing time. And I'm getting a lot more sleep!
The Jo Anne who commented on my blog is not Dr. Joanne O. that we know from work. The Jo Anne who commented is a local writer whose work is not yet in print (though I think she is very close to publication.)
I'm an avid reader and love to share book recommendations. E-mail me at frost_fic@yahoo.com and I'll point you toward some of my favorite new releases and you can point me toward some of yours. :)
Thanks for stopping in, and please visit as often as you like. I love chatting with people in the comments.
