Happy Spring!

Friend and fellow WRWer, Rick Bylina reminded me that it's spring. (My allergies have been letting me know a little, but I like Rick's approach much better.)

So what has this week been like for everyone? How's the weather where you are? If you're a writer, how's the writing?

See you in the comments for Saturday morning coffee.

Houston area weather: Warm, sunny, beautiful!

Writing news:

My second-round revisions were accepted by my editor so WOULD-BE WITCH is done until the page proofs. Yahoo!

I started a new story which has a crazy horrible work-in-progress title. I sent the first twenty-five pages and a 1-page synopsis to my agent to see what she thinks of the new premise.

Then...I started another new story while I wait for a response to the first new story. Yeah, it's a sickness. The only thing that takes my mind off waiting to hear about something I've written is to write something new.

Hi, Kimberly - happy spring and yay for revisions being done!!

I've been working on the germ of a small project that is not ready for primetime discussion but fills me with great squee. I'll update everyone when I find out if it's a done deal.

Blood Bargain proceeds apace and I should have the final to my editor by the end of the month.

In the meantime, the sampler cover (for the sample 3 chapters which is a marketing piece) just got posted and I'm squeeing like a fangrrl about that, too!

Now, it's off to bed so I can run my errands in the a.m. and spend the day writing.

Morning, everyone! Congrats on being done (for now) with WBW, Kimber! And good luck finishing up, maria. Busy writing weekend ahead! I'll be spending it with my adopted parents - and for a change, their daughter (we've been friends since 9th grade...a couple of years ago). Spent the week with a close friend in Pensacola, and next week I wrap up my life here in FL and head to CO. Crazy busy. Wish I could sit home and write like you! Happy Easter -

Kansas City weather: moderating. We've had some days in the 70s and some nights that drop below freezing. Spring is here though.

As for writing -- ugh! Who has time for that? Right now I'm sitting in an uncomfortable chair with my laptop on a table that is too low. Hotel rooms ought to be set up for writers! Also, visiting family for the holidays should have mandatory blocks of time set aside for writing undisturbed.

The plot thickens, though, so when I get the chance to return to the storytelling, the work will progress.

Hi folks. Little late getting here because I just happened to check over at Nancy's and saw the comment.

Congrats Kimberly and Maria on your book news!

Little signs of spring are springing up. 8" of rain really greened up the moss [LINK].

Hope that everybody who went the recent deluge came through okay.

Good Morning, Morning people! :)

Maria - I love the sample cover. The red wash goes so well with the title/vampire them. Very cool. And congrats on the squee for the new project!

Beth - I envy you all your socializing. I turn into such a writing hermit and then I miss out on seeing people. On the plus side I'll be seeing my mom next month and can't wait. We're taking a little mother-daughter trip.

Andi!

I'M SO GLAD TO SEE YOU!!!

:) Thanks for coming!

I missed your beautiful pictures and I loved today's link to the stream picture. A lovely way to start spring.

Yay, that you're here.

I understand from Kelly's blog that his grandmother recently passed. She was apparently a very remarkable person, who was involved in the letter-writing campaign to save the original Star Trek. How cool is that?

Anyway, I'm having a cup of cherry green tea this morning in her honor.

Also, let's send some productivity vibes over to Nancy. I miss her. I read Paul's last comment of "Are you done yet?" and cracked up. I so feel like a little kid, too. "Are we there yet? Can we get out and play?" ;)

Okay, sauntering off to watch a movie. Back a little later.

Paul -

Options for getting your writing in:

A) Pretend you're going to play golf. I'm not sure why, but golfers are always allowed to go off and play, no matter the occasion, and everyone accepts it as a natural obsession.

B) Fake having the bubonic plague and say the Centers for Disease Control thinks you may be contagious. (People will call, but they won't visit, leaving you free...)

But don't forget to bring flowers and big smile when you arrive to the festivities post golf/plague/oversleeping because no one can resist someone who's cheerful and charming.

Hi Kimberly. I did a post-a-pic-and-run and am just now getting back. Anyway, thanks for the great welcome and glad you enjoyed the photo.
Hi all,

Alive here but stressed and missing a grand old lady. On the plus side I just finished a couple of book proposals and got them out the door. Thanks for the tribute tea, Kimber, I appreciate it.

Hi Kelly,

It's good to see you, friend, and I'm glad you're hanging in there.

With all the SFF fans you've got in the family, it must have been an amazing celebration when your first book came out.

Great news on sending off the proposals!

Hi Kimberly & maria lima & Beth & Paul & Kelly!

Kimberly, congratulations, on the Would-Be Witch.

Maria, I can't wait to hear your news.

Andi, I figured out the photo problem. Well, I figured out a way around it. It seems I can work with images if I do it in IE (not Firefox.) I've got no idea what's wrong. But I'm going to post one of your photos in the morning... And THAT's what I'm excited about!

{{Kelly}}, I'm so sorry. Your grandmother sounds like a wonderful person.
